Interview Preparation: Where did you learn about this job?
The Interviewer:
- It doesn’t matter to him if it was Linked-in or a career website.
- He might try to know if you know someone in organization and have a referral.
- He might make inferences if you are proactive or reactive.
- He might look for your interest in job - does the job excite you?
The Applicant:
- Question is asked because interviewer is tired or bored with so many interviews. He might be running out of questions or feeling blank for a moment.
- Unless you make your response interesting, he won’t even remember the response.
- This is another chance to sell yourself - relate your skills to opportunity.
- Wake him up by your passion – this interview is result of your coordinated effort; not by luck.
